PlannerMap (Ordnance Survey OS Street View)

PlannerMap PlannerMap is a backdrop raster map product derived from OS Street View data set (simplified from OS Landplan), covering GB (not including the Isle of Man). It consists of raster images, ideally suited for scales on screen in the range 1:6,000 to 1:1,000. There is also a vector layer of place names suitable for use with the Find command in a GIS.

  • Main feature colours consistent with OutlineMap, TourerMap and RangerMap;
  • Subtle pastel colours are used, so any overlay layers can be seen more readily;
  • Gazetteer of over 57,000 settlements: towns, cities, suburbs and villages;
  • Supplied as 5km square images, available in any combination;
  • Ready to use with a seamless table for MapInfo software or image catalogue for ESRI software.

PlannerMap technical information

A workspace or project file is supplied.

Suitable for scales on screen in the range 1:6,000 to 1:1,000.

A georeferencing file positions each image and a seamless table opens all the files required for the current map view.

The nominal scale of these images is 1:5,000 (about 12 inches to 1 mile) and the resolution is 5 dots/mm (127 dpi). Each pixel represents ½m square.

The British National Grid co-ordinate system is used.

The storage space is approximately 0.7Mb per 5km x 5km tile on average. LZW compression is used for TIFF.

Main formats available: TIFF, JPEG and others, along with georeferencing files for use in GIS.
