RangerMap technical information
A workspace or project file is supplied.
A georeferencing file positions each image and a seamless table opens all the files required for the current map view.
The nominal scale of these images is 1:50,000 (about 1¼ inch to 1 mile) and the resolution is 10 dots/mm (254 dpi). Each pixel represents 5m square.
The British National Grid co-ordinate system is used.
The storage space required is approximately 2Mb per 20km x 20km tile on average. LZW compression is used for TIFF.
Main formats available: TIFF, JPEG and others, along with georeferencing files for use in GIS.
